Fuchu 府中

Fuchu is a suburban city located in western part of the Tokyo metropolitan area. A 25-minute train ride from Shinjuku on the Keio Line whisks you to the city that was once the seat of the historical Musashi Province. It was also a post town along the Koshu Kaido Highway. Fuchu, with its blend of both the old and new, is a great destination to see and feel how ordinary Japanese people live.

Ookunitama Shrine

Ookunitama Jinja is one of the five major shrines of Tokyo and the only one located outside the 23 special wards. “Kurayami Matsuri”, literally the Darkness Festival, is held each year between 30 April and 06 May.
